Substation HV Electrical Designer

HDEC is looking for an experienced Substation HV Electrical Designer to take a lead role in the design of high-voltage substations for large-scale renewable energy utility projects (PV & Wind). The ideal candidate will deliver high-quality, standards-compliant designs across multiple voltage levels, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and ensure adherence to IEC standards and local regulatory requirements. Key Responsibilities Execute engineering and design tasks in line with client specifications, international codes, and IEC standards. Develop detailed substation HV electrical designs (AIS, GIS, Hybrid) for global renewable projects. Prepare complete technical submissions, including: Single Line Diagrams (SLD) & General Layout Drawings Bill of Quantities (BOQ) & Technical Specifications Conceptual Design Reports & RFQ Packages Perform key design calculations (Earthing, Lightning Protection, Illumination, Load Analysis, etc.). Draft technical specifications for equipment and subcontractors; evaluate proposals for compliance. Address client/owners engineer comments with timely and effective solutions. Collaborate closely with other engineering disciplines to optimize substation design. Deliver projects on time, within budget, and with minimal supervision.
