Job Description

<p>We are looking for an experienced Assistant Plant Manager to support plant operations in a chemical manufacturing environment. The role will focus on safe production practices, regulatory compliance, quality assurance, and process optimization, ensuring uninterrupted operations while maintaining the highest standards of safety and sustainability.</p><h3>Key Responsibilities</h3><ul><li>Assist the Plant Manager in overseeing day-to-day production to meet volume, quality, and cost targets.</li><li>Monitor plant performance metrics (throughput, yield, energy efficiency) and implement corrective actions.</li><li>Ensure adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).</li><li>Enforce strict compliance with EHS standards, OSHA, and local regulatory requirements.</li><li>Support Process Safety Management (PSM) and risk assessments (HAZOP, HAZAN, and JSA).</li><li>Oversee hazardous material handling, waste management, and sustainability initiatives.</li><li>Lead, coach, and develop frontline supervisors and technical staff.</li><li>Act as acting Plant Manager during their absence.</li><li>Identify and implement improvements in plant processes, cost efficiency, and resource utilization.</li><li>Support implementation of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and digital tools (IoT, DCS/SCADA analytics).</li><li>Collaborate with R&D and Quality teams for process trials and product development.</li><li>Prepare and review reports on production, incidents, compliance audits, and operational KPIs.</li><li>Interface with external auditors, inspectors, and local authorities when required.</li></ul><h3>Qualifications & Experience</h3><ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in #Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.</li><li>5 to 6 years of experience in chemical, petrochemical, or specialty chemical plant operations with at least 3 years in a supervisory role.</li><li>In-depth knowledge of process safety, chemical handling, hazardous waste management, and regulatory frameworks.</li><li>English proficiency</li></ul><h3>Key Skills & Competencies</h3><ul><li>Strong technical and process knowledge of chemical manufacturing.</li><li>Proven ability to lead and motivate teams in high-risk environments.</li><li>Excellent communication and crisis management skills.</li><li>Analytical thinking and data-driven decision making.</li><li>Commitment to safety, compliance, and sustainability.</li></ul>
