Job Description
Structural Steel Estimation Engineer
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare cost estimates by developing material and labor takeoffs, combined with vendor pricing, to produce accurate project costings.
Prepare detailed estimates and proposals including notes, conditions, exclusions, inclusions, assumptions, and deviations as per client requirements.
Demonstrate strong expertise in estimation techniques and cost preparation.
Coordinate with vendors to request and receive project-specific pricing within deadlines.
Review contract documents, RFIs, and specifications to ensure accuracy of drawings.
Ensure adherence to building codes and company design standards.
Coordinate with operations teams and vendors for fabrication and field execution.
Collaborate with clients to ensure complete understanding of project scope, schedule, and requirements.
Perform additional assignments as directed by the supervisor.
Review architectural and civil blueprints to estimate quantities, safety requirements, and overall costs of steel.
