Job Description
Our client, an innovative and fast-growing international company in the early education sector, is looking for a Financial Controller to lead their finance function across UK and US operations. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical accounting knowledge, cross-border financial management experience, and a hands-on approach in a scaling digital or SaaS business environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee financial operations across UK and US entities
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual reports and forecasts
- Manage cash flow, budgets, and cost control
- Ensure compliance with UK GAAP, IFRS, and US GAAP (ASC 606)
- Lead external audits and internal financial reviews
- Support M&A processes including due diligence and integration
- Improve financial processes including billing, invoicing, and revenue recognition
- Coordinate tax filings and liaise with external advisors in both jurisdictions
Key Experience/Skills Required:
- 7+ years experience in a similar role (preferably SaaS or tech sector)
- ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or CPA qualified
- Strong understanding of UK/US accounting and tax regulations
- Experience managing multi-entity and cross-border financial reporting
- High proficiency in Excel, ERP systems, and cloud-based finance tools
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Proactive, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities
