Kendrick Recruitment is now seeking a highly skilled Financial Controller to join a renowned chain of restaurants based at the V&A Waterfront, Cape Town. This is a pivotal position within the group, requiring a financially astute professional with extensive hospitality industry experience, particularly within restaurants and food & beverage operations.
This is a live-out position offering a fixed salary of R50,000 per month. We are looking for someone who is not only technically strong but also commercially minded, solutions-driven, and capable of leading finance operations across a growing and dynamic group.
Minimum Requirements:
- Tertiary qualification in Finance, Accounting, or related field (CIMA, CA(SA), or equivalent preferred)
- 5+ years’ experience in financial management or controlling roles
- Essential: Previous experience within hospitality, restaurants, or hotels
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Proficiency in financial systems, reporting tools, and ERP software
- Sound knowledge of South African financial regulations, tax, and labour laws
- Excellent organisational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities
- Proven track record of implementing effective financial controls and systems
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee all financial operations across the restaurant group
- Develop, prepare, and present accurate budgets, forecasts, and management reports
- Ensure statutory compliance including VAT, UIF, tax submissions, and payroll
- Oversee creditors, debtors, invoicing, and reconciliations
- Implement and maintain strong internal controls and financial procedures
- Conduct cash flow management and cost analysis to support profitability
- Work closely with senior leadership to support strategic planning and growth decisions
- Liaise with auditors, tax consultants, and regulatory authorities
