About the Role

As Head Data Scientist, you will:

• Lead and mentor a high-performing Search & Data Science team.
• Architect and optimize search indices, taxonomy, ontology, and metadata models to deliver world-class customer search experiences.
• Drive cross-functional programs with product owners, engineers, and designers across Loans, Insurance & Investments.
• Apply ML, NLP, and predictive analytics to improve data retrieval, personalization, and search intelligence.
• Stay at the cutting edge of AI/ML research, design competitive solutions, and build prototypes to showcase next-gen possibilities.

What We’re Looking For

• 11+ years of experience (with 8+ years hands-on in Data Science/ML).
• 3+ years in Search Systems (preferably high-volume eCommerce platforms).
• Proven expertise in Python, R, SAS, TensorFlow, PyTorch, Spark ML.
• Strong knowledge of Search engines (Elasticsearch/Solr), Big Data frameworks (Hadoop, Spark), SQL/NoSQL (Cosmos DB, Cassandra, MongoDB).
• Deep experience in taxonomy, tags, thesaurus, ontology & metadata models.
• Strong coding mindset + leadership to build scalable, real-world AI/ML systems.
• Background in Product companies (Flipkart, Amazon, Zomato, Zepto, etc. preferred).
