MSMEDA is looking for a highly motivated Investment Analyst to join our team. The ideal candidate will contribute to the full investment lifecycle-from sourcing and evaluating new opportunities to managing relationships with portfolio funds. Sourcing
Network with angel investors and VCs to identify potential investment opportunities
Develop and refine prospective funds investment thesis and frameworks to help guide our investment strategy
Investment
The position requires strong communication skills, analytical capabilities, and an understanding of the startup ecosystem and venture capital industry. The candidate will be expected to contribute to all aspects of the investment and portfolio management process
Identify and evaluate potential new investments in a wide variety of sectors based on MSMEDAs selection criteria
Track and manage pipeline of new potential investments
Perform market research and competitive analysis
Prepare investment memos for the investment committee
Facilitate the due diligence on potential investment opportunities
Manage process of deal documentation, legal review, and financial administration
Collaborate with legal counsel, accountants, auditors, and other service providers to manage investment to closing
Engage in periodic review of portfolio company performance and develop view on quality of execution
Focus on analytical assessments including pricing analysis, competitive positioning, and KPIs tracking
Support in production of MSMEDAs FoFs reports
Portfolio Management and Operational Duties:
Build strong relationships with the portfolio funds
Participate in meetings with the GPs
Receive and develop reports regarding the portfolio funds performance
Maintain up-to-date information on the latest market trends
Job Requirements
13 years of relevant experience in investment banking, strategic corporate development (M&A), venture capital, or private equity
Strong analytical skills and ability to engage in structured problem solving
Excellent writing and communication skills
Collaborative thinker who works well in teams and is also an independent, selfstarter
Experience in entrepreneurial environment is a plus
