Job Title: Milk Product Procurement Officer/Manager
Department: Procurement

Job Summary:
The Milk Procurement Officer/Manager is responsible for overseeing the procurement of milk from farmers, milk producers, and cooperative societies. The role involves ensuring the quality and quantity of milk, building relationships with suppliers, and optimizing procurement costs to meet the company's production needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Milk Procurement Operations:
Plan, manage, and execute milk procurement activities to meet daily production requirements.
Develop sourcing strategies to ensure a consistent supply of milk.
Monitor milk collection centers for adherence to quality standards.
Supplier Relationship Management:
Establish and maintain strong relationships with farmers, milk societies, and cooperatives.
Data and Documentation:
Maintain accurate records of milk procurement, including volumes, sources, and costs.
Analyze data to forecast future requirements and optimize procurement strategies.
Team Coordination:
Supervise and train field procurement staff to improve efficiency.
Coordinate with logistics teams for smooth transportation of milk to processing units.
Compliance and Reporting:
Ensure compliance with local regulations and company policies.
Provide regular reports on procurement activities to senior management.
Key Skills and Competencies:
Strong understanding of the dairy industry and milk supply chain.
Excellent negotiation and relationship-building skills.
Analytical mindset with proficiency in data analysis tools.
Knowledge of milk quality testing techniques and standards.
Effective communication and leadership skills.
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Qualifications and Experience:
Education: Bachelors degree in Agriculture, Dairy Technology, Business Management, or a related field.
Experience:
3-5 years of experience in milk procurement or dairy operations.
Familiarity with rural areas and the ability to engage with farmers and cooperatives.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
Volume of milk procured against targets.
Cost per liter of milk procured.
Percentage of milk meeting quality standards.
Timeliness of milk collection and delivery.
