Job Description

<p>The Spine Surgery group of Canada East Spine Centre in Saint John, New Brunswick is seeking a skilled and dedicated Intraoperative Neuromonitoring (IONM) Technologist to support complex spinal and select cranial surgeries. You will perform real-time neurophysiological monitoring and contribute to a nationally recognized academic and research-focused environment. This full-time role includes occasional, emergent after-hours coverage and the opportunity, if desired, to participate in clinical research.</p><h3>Summary of Duties</h3><ul><li>Consult with surgeons and anesthesiologists regarding patient risks and IONM modalities</li><li>Clearly communicate the IONM procedure to patients preoperatively</li><li>Place and verify all electrodes per established protocols</li><li>Monitor multimodal waveforms (SSEP, MEP, EMG, etc.) during surgery</li><li>Provide timely feedback to the surgical team on patient status</li><li>Upload and maintain surgical logs accurately</li><li>Maintain IONM equipment and report any technical issues</li><li>Apply appropriate monitoring protocols; troubleshoot signal issues as needed</li><li>Keep current with literature and best practices in IONM</li><li>Participate in occasional, emergent after-hours cases</li></ul>
