We are looking for a motivated PhD candidate to investigate the durability of earthen buildings in a 3-year research project. The work will focus on identifying pathologies in heritage rammed earth, cob, and adobe structures, carrying out on-site sampling, and analyzing the materials using innovative mineralogical and microstructural methods developed at the University of Poitiers.

The goal is to link microscopic alterations with field-observed degradations, contributing both to heritage conservation and the advancement of sustainable construction practices.
