Job Description

Be skilled in overseeing sales development, operations, and client relations, have a proven track record in managing complex departments, handling negotiations, and driving sales and marketing initiatives. Experienced in freight and logistics management. Key Responsibilities: - Financial & Operational Reporting: - Prepare and submit month-end reports. - Generate flash revenue and revenue forecasts. - Perform volume and revenue analysis. - Compile executive income statements. - Oversee warehouse revenue allocation. - Prepare and review vessel reports. - Departmental Oversight: - Assist in managing the Import Department (27 staff members across six sections): - Release Desk - Documentation - Rail and Road Hauls - Audits/Acquittals - Invoicing - Client & Stakeholder Management: - Liaise with sales and management to resolve client queries. - Monitor and ensure compliance with special client agreements and contracts. - Process and authorize Merchant DROs, forwarding them for action. - Handle late clearance consignments by coordinating with POL and consignees. - Resolve queries for unreleased cargo and authorize releases for short-paid consignments. - Regulatory Compliance & Problem Resolution: - Manage SARS/border police stops and ensure regulatory compliance. - Provide decisions on unclear documentation and client charges. - Handle contentious client queries and assist with counter operations when necessary. - Team Leadership & Support: - Mentor and support team members in their roles. - Oversee incoming correspondence and distribute appropriately. - Monitor and ensure counter staff performance aligns with service standards.
