Job Description

<p>We are looking for a dynamic and detail-oriented Deputy Manager - Project Management to support and drive project execution for a large-scale greenfield steel plant project in Odisha. The role will involve end-to-end coordination of project activities, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, safety standards, and quality benchmarks. The selected candidate will work closely with senior leadership, contractors, consultants, and cross-functional teams to ensure smooth project execution.</p><h3>Key Responsibilities</h3><ul><li>Assist in planning, scheduling, and monitoring of project activities across multiple functions.</li><li>Support in preparing and tracking project scope, cost, schedule, and quality deliverables.</li><li>Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and consultants to ensure project milestones are achieved.</li><li>Monitor compliance with safety, environmental, and statutory requirements during project execution.</li><li>Contribute to tender preparation, bid evaluation, vendor management, and contract administration.</li><li>Ensure proper documentation, project reporting, and use of project management tools (Primavera, SAP, MS Project, or equivalent).</li><li>Support risk identification and mitigation strategies for smooth project execution.</li></ul><ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical/Electrical/Civil) from a recognized institution.</li><li>5-10 years of project management experience in steel industry or heavy engineering projects.</li><li>Strong exposure to steel plant operations and processes (BOF, EAF, SMS, Sinter Plant, Blast Furnace, Rolling Mills).</li><li>Hands-on experience in project management tools such as SAP, Primavera, or MS Project.</li><li>Excellent communication, coordination, and stakeholder management skills.</li><li>Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.</li><li>Knowledge of safety and quality management systems in industrial projects.</li></ul><ul><li>PMP or equivalent project management certification (good to have).</li><li>Experience in greenfield or brownfield steel plant projects.</li><li>Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple priorities.</li></ul>
